The Most Common Questions About Private Jet Travel

Why do people still ask about private jet travel?

Flying privately is still unfamiliar to most travelers, and the first question we hear is almost always the same: what does it actually involve? From how a quote is priced to what happens on the day of travel, every detail matters. These are the questions we answer most often.

How do you really pay for a private charter?

Charter pricing is not a one size fits all formula. The starting point is the aircraft type: smaller jets cost less per flight hour than large, long-range aircraft. From there, the price shifts with the distance, the flight time, and what it takes to position the aircraft for your trip on that day.

Other costs can include fuel stops, ground handling at each airport, overnight crew and parking fees, and any additional services you request, such as special catering. Stan walks you through the quote before you commit, so you know exactly what your flight includes.

What makes the cabin experience different?

Once you step on board, the contrast with commercial travel is obvious. The cabin is yours. The noise level is low, the lighting can be dimmed, and the temperature can be set to your comfort. Depending on the aircraft, that can mean club seating for a working flight or a cabin that converts for rest on a long overnight leg.

Service is tailored as well. Catering is arranged around your preferences, from breakfast choices to the way you take your coffee. Business travelers can work on aircraft equipped with onboard connectivity, and families can plan entertainment for children so the flight passes easily.

How is safety managed on private jets?

Safety is the foundation of every charter we arrange. Charter flights in the United States are operated under Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Administration regulations, which set requirements for operator certification, pilot training, and aircraft maintenance. Each aircraft undergoes routine inspections, and repairs are performed by certified technicians using manufacturer approved parts.

Crews receive recurrent training that covers routine operations and emergency scenarios, from adverse weather to a medical event on board. We review operator certifications, insurance coverage, maintenance programs, and crew experience before any aircraft is assigned to a client trip.

What does the booking process look like?

It starts with a conversation. You tell Stan the origin, destination, dates, passenger count, and any special requirements. We source aircraft options that fit the trip and send you a quote for review.

Once you approve the quote and complete the charter agreement, we handle the rest, coordinating with the operator, the airports, ground transportation, and catering. Before you depart, you receive an itinerary with every detail, from departure time to arrival, so you know exactly what to expect.

Are there limits to what I can bring on board?

Private jets are not bound by airline baggage rules, but there are practical limits. Each aircraft has a set baggage capacity and maximum payload. Personal luggage, sports equipment, and even a small musical instrument are usually no problem, while large or oddly shaped items may need special arrangements.

Pets and sensitive equipment need planning too, and pet policies are set by the individual operator. The simple rule: tell us what you are bringing when you request your quote, and we will make sure the aircraft we select has the space you need.
